Antone Baker scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Waynesburg to a 70-61 upset of host Saint Vincent in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference basketball game played Wednesday night.
Baker made nine of 14 shots as Waynesburg (3-11, 5-13) snapped a five-game losing streak. The Yellow Jackets shot a blistering 50 percent from the field and made all four of their three-point attempts.
Jansen Knotts had 16 points for Waynesburg and Ryan Felberg scored 14. Felberg made 10 of 12 free throws.
Waynesburg never trailed in the game and led by as many as 18 points (48-30).
Shemar Bennett led Saint Vincent (7-7, 11-8) with game highs of 20 points and 14 rebounds.
California 87, Mansfield 73: K.J. McClurg led five California University players in double figures with 19 points, Jermaine Hall had a double-double and the Vulcans rolled to an 87-73 victory over Mansfield in a PSAC game played Wednesday at the Convocation Center.
Cal (6-7, 9-10) never trailed. The Vulcans made 10 three-point field goals.
Hall finished with 18 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Donald Whitehead had 17 points, Cam Polak 15 and Keith Palek 12.
Duquesne 72, Loyola Chicago 58: Dae Dae Grant and Jimmy Clark III scored 13 points each as Duquesne beat Loyola Chicago 72-58 on Wednesday night in a game that was briefly interrupted when a delivery person carrying a bag of food from McDonald’s walked onto the court.
The interruption came when the delivery person came onto the floor early in the second half before being waved off by a referee. Eventually, the food found its customer.
Rodney Gunn Jr. added 12 points for the Dukes (4-4, 14-7).
Philip Alston, a transfer from California University, led the Ramblers (1-7, 7-13) with 25 points.
