Brown, Kuzior power Burgettstown past Avella

BURGETTSTOWN — Rudy Brown ran for two fourth-quarter touchdowns, Brodie Kuzior ran for a score and threw for another, and Burgettstown defeated Avella 28-6 in a Class A Black Hills Conference game Friday night.

The win moves Burgettstown to 3-3 in the conference and 5-3 overall.

Kuzior threw a 63-yard touchdown pass to Zach Schrockman in the first quarter and ran seven yards to the end zone in the second quarter to put the Blue Devils ahead 14-0.

Avella (1-5, 3-6) closed to within 14-6 in the third quarter when Broden Hamm scored on a 14-yard run.

Brown, however, sealed the win for Burgettstown with TD scampers of seven and four yards.

Kuzior passed for 131 yards and ran for a team-high 80.
