Trinity blanks Albert Gallatin in boys soccer
Trinity scored three second-half goals en route to a 4-0 victory over Albert Gallatin on Thursday.
Brady Anderson gave Trinity a 1-0 lead in the first half. John Garcia, Andy Palm and Collin Reihner each tallied goals in the second half. Talan Garnder contributed two assists.
Trinity dominated play from start to finish as the Hillers had 43 shots (20 on target) compared to zero for AG.
Ringgold 1, Laurel Highlands 0
Jack Brodak scored three minutes into the second Class 3A Section 2 match and Ringgold held on for a victory over Laurel Highlands at Joe Montana Stadium.
Brodak received a cross from Michael Stasko before burying the shot past the Mustangs’ keeper.
Four yellow cards were issued in the second half with Laurel Highlands picking up three and the Rams one.
Donovan Fortuna earned his second straight clean sheet, but was assisted by Ringgold’s backline of Joshua Molisee, Cole Scheponik, Zach Whaley and Sam Alvarez.
The Rams (2-0-0, 3-0-0) host Trinity (2-0, 2-1) on Sept. 5 in section play at 7:30 p.m.
Bentworth 7, Serra Catholic 1
Adam and Ryan Moessner scored two goals apiece to lead Bentworth to a non-section over Serra Catholic at Bentworth.
Austin Hollier, Aiden McMurray and Dillon Colbert closed the scoring for the Bearcats (3-0-0). Andrew Vipperman had three assists. McMurray had two and Adam and Ryan Moessner had one assist apiece.
Girls soccer
Beth-Center 2, Charleroi 1
Jaslyn Debnar and Kendall Welsh provided Beth-Center a two-goal lead in a non-section victory over Charleroi at Beth-Center.
Athena Teluch earned the win in goal.
The Bulldogs improved to 1-1-0 in overall play.
The Cougars (0-2-0, 0-3-0) scored their goal in the first half.
