One was more straight forward and the other was very dramatic, but the California men’s basketball team left Central Pennsylvania with a pair of victories this weekend.

The Vulcans beat Mansfield 93-70 Sunday one day after Antonie Arnett made a game-winning jumper with 1.3 seconds remaining in a 63-61 victory over Lock Haven (4-6).

Arnett finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds in the win against Lock Haven, who led 60-56 with a minute and a half remaining, but Cal rallied and took the lead 61-60 on a basket by Bryson Lucas, who had 14 points and 11 rebounds.

On Sunday, the Vulcans (7-4) had six players in double figures in the win over Mansfield (1-9).

Arnett had 19 points, Keondre DeShields scored 18 off the bench, Lucas had 16, Joshua Ray finished with 13 and Brayden Reyonlds and Jordan Clayton netted 10 each.

Waynesburg 80, Carlow 70

Paced by a 27-point afternoon from Jackson Rhodes, Waynesburg snapped a seven-game losing streak with an 80-70 win at Carlow (1-12) Saturday.

Rhodes made 10 field goals, including four three-pointers.

The Yellow Jackets (4-7) closed the game on a 22-8 run over the final six minutes to secure its first win since they beat Penn State New Kensington on Nov. 11.

Carlow had an 11-0 run prior to that and took a brief 62-58 lead.

Casey Keesee and Scott Bilovus added 11 points each for Waynesburg.

Jimmy Giannetta had a game-high 30 points for the Celtics.
