Cal works overtime to dispatch Wilmington
Jordyn Buchanan sank two free throws with five seconds remaining regulation to get the game to overtime and California won the extra frame 17-10 to earn a 84-77 win at Wilmington Saturday afternoon in Delaware.
Brayden Reyonlds scored the final eight points for Cal, which improved to 2-4 on the season. He put the Vulcans ahead 78-76 with a layup, then hit another layup to increase the lead to 80-77 and went 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the final minute.
Reynolds finished with a team-best 21 points.
Antoine Arnett added 19 points, Bryson Lucas contributed 15 and hit a trio of three-pointers and Dalman Alexander scored 10.
Tre Hawkins had a game high 25 points for Wilmington, which led 35-33 at halftime. Hawkins made 12 of 17 free throw attempts.
Jaylin Horsey sank four three-pointers and had 15 points for the Wildcats (3-3).
