Carmichaels finishes strong, wins 3rd straight

CARMICHAELS – Will Murray rushed for 269 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries as Carmichaels ended the regular season with its third consecutive win, a 54-0 thumping of Class A Tri-County South Conference rival Mapletown on Friday night.

Murray scored the Mikes’ final two touchdowns, on scampers of 46 and 79 yards. He also scored on four two-point conversions.

Cannon Bupka had TD runs of 16 and 33 yards, and Stephen Lewis had an eight-yard TD and returned the second-half kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown.

Carmichaels is 3-4 in the conference and 4-5 overall. The Mikes finished in fourth place in the conference. Mapletown (0-7, 1-9) was held to 57 total yards.
