McGuffey broke a tie by scoring four times in the bottom of the sixth inning and defeated Keystone Oaks 6-2 on Friday in Class 3A Section 3.

McGuffey improves to 3-1 in the section and 3-2 overall.

Julianna Ward put McGuffey ahead with an RBI single in the sixth and Ellie Henderson followed with a three-run homer to center field.

Winning pitcher Miley Main scattered six hits.

Chartiers-Houston 21, Fort Cherry 0: Undefeated Chartiers-Houston just keeps on rolling.

Lauren Rush drove in four runs and Taryne Drilak threw a one-hitter as the undefeated Bucs beat Fort Cherry 21-0 in three innings in Class 2A Section 3.

Sophia Robinson had two doubles for C-H (5-0, 11-0). Rush, Drilak, Brooklyn Hess and Aubree Randolph also doubled.

South Fayette 4, Moon 2: Evie Vuono hit a two-run homer and Emma Earley struck out nine, leading South Fayette to a 4-2 in over visiting Moon in Class 5A Section 3.

Vuono’s homer came in the first inning. Moon (2-3, 4-6) tied the score at 2-2 in the fourth, but South Fayette (2-3, 4-6) went ahead for good in the bottom of the inning when Vuono scored her second run of the game.

That was enough offense for Earley, who scattered seven hits. She did not issue a walk.

Brenna Dunn went 2-for-2 with a double and two runs for the Lions and Vuono also had a triple.

West Greene 11, Avella 0: Sammi Zimmerman twirled a one-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts, Elaina Beazell reached base four times and Kendra Tharps scored three runs as West Greene blanked Avella 11-0 in a Class A Section 2 game.

Beazell had a double and three RBI. Tharp also doubled and drove in a pair as West Greene improved to 4-1 in section and 7-3 overall.

The lone hit for Avella (0-2, 0-5) was a single by Madison Rush.

Beth-Center 12, Mapletown 1: Kendall Welsh threw a two-hitter as Beth-Center defeated host Mapletown 12-1 in Class A Section 2.

Welsh struck out seven and walked two. She allowed only an unearned run and helped her cause by going 3-for-5 with a double. Keira Lamp had a triple and drove in three runs for the Bulldogs (2-3, 3-5).

North Allegheny 7, Canon-McMillan 6: North Allegheny scored four times in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally for a 7-6 win over Canon-McMillan in Class 6A.

The Tigers (4-3, 4-4) trailed 6-3 entering the seventh and began the comeback with four consecutive singles, an error and a walk to tie the score. After a strikeout, Twila Goulding hit a walk-off single.

C-M (4-3, 5-3) overcame an early 3-1 deficit by scoring twice in the fifth and three times in the sixth. Lyla Yakubik hit a solo homer, Morgan Bumer smacked three doubles and Lyla Mowery also had a two-bagger.

Uniontown 13, Belle Vernon 4: Emmaleigh Noah drove in four runs, Lauren White hit two doubles and Uniontown overpowered Belle Vernon 13-4 in a Class 4A Section 2 game.

Uniontown (3-3, 5-3) led 6-0 in the second inning. Belle Vernon (3-5, 5-6) closed to within 6-3 before the Red Raiders scored seven times over the final two innings.

Paisley Hibner hit a solo homer for the Leopards.

Elizabeth Forward 14, Ringgold 4: Morgan Telegdy hit a two-run homer and Addy Nigut smacked three doubles as Class 4A Section 2 leader Elizabeth Forward defeated Ringgold, 14-4.

Addison Jenkins had two hits, two runs and two RBI for Ringgold (0-6, 0-7).
