The Washington Wild Things acquired catcher Isaias Quiroz from the Lexington Legends of the Atlantic League for a player to be named later Saturday night.

After the trade the Wild Things signed Quiroz and placed catcher Miguel Pabón on the inactive list as a corresponding move.

In a release, the Wild Things said Pabón has left the team and was placed on the suspended list Saturday.

Quiroz, 29, played eight seasons from 2014-21 in the Texas Rangers farm system reaching as high as Double-A Frisco before being released.

He’s a veteran of the independent circuit having played for Sussex County in the Frontier League and Southern Maryland, Hagerstown and Lexington of the Atlantic league.

Quiroz has a .182 batting average with 34 homers and 108 RBI in 306 games over five independent league seasons
