Friday’s nightcap at the Pony League World Series between Puerto Rico and Bay County was suspended because of lightning.

The game was halted after the third inning and will resume at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lew Hays Field.

Puerto Rico leads 4-0 thanks to the hitting and pitching of Sergio Pagan.

Pagan dominant on the mound with five strikeouts over three innigns and he belted a three-run homer

Bay County starter Landon Deford was strong through two innings, but Puerto Rico broke through in the third, which was highlighted by Pagan’s homer.

Jaiden Velez drew a one-out walk and moved to second on a single by James Feliciano. With two strikes and two outs, Anthony Roman smacked a single past second base to score Velez.

Then, Pagan came up and promptly crushed a ball that went well over the right field fence.

The homer chased Deford from the mound.

Deford led off the second inning with a hustle double to right field, but was thrown out trying to steal third base by Puerto Rico catcher Anthony Roman.

Pagan stuck out the next two batters, to give him four through two innings.
