High school basketball: Waynesburg girls hand Seton LaSalle first section loss
Emma Blair had 17 points and Peyton Cowell scored 16 to help Waynesburg (8-2, 16-2) win 46-41 and hand Seton LaSalle (9-1, 12-7) its first Class 3A Section 3 loss of the season.
The Raiders used a 20-6 advantage in the third quarter to take control.

Avella 74, Summit Academy 42: Brayden Fuller led three Avella players in double figures with 18 points in a 74-42 win against Class A Section 1 foe Summit Academy.
Cameron Ullom added 13 points for the Eagles, who improved to 6-2 in section and 15-4 overall. Nate Cilia scored 10 points.
The Eagles led 24-11 at the end of the first quarter and cruised from there.
Khalil Ollie had a game-high 27 points for the Knights (2-5, 8-8).
Monessen 60, Serra Catholic 56: Torrence Taylor scored a game-high 25 points and Monessen (4-3, 9-7) secured an important Class A Section 2 win 60-56 over Serra Catholic (5-2, 10-7) Saturday.
Rodney Johnson added 12 points for the Greyhounds.
