Cal men cruise past Kutztown for 8th straight win

Jordyn Buchanan sank a half dozen three-pointers and had 22 points to lead California to a 91-68 victory over Kutztown in a PSAC crossover game Saturday.

Cal (9-4) won its eighth game in a row and wasn’t really challenged by Kutztown (2-7). The Vulcans led 48-35 at halftime.

Keondre DeShields came off the bench to score 12 points and Joshua Ray contributed 11 points for the Vulcans. California went 17 of 22 from the free throw line.

Yahmir Satterfield had 20 points and made five threes for the Bears.

Women’s results

Kutztown 70, California 66

Ariana Smuda canned a jump shot in the paint with 58 seconds remaining to give Kutztown the lead for good in a 70-66 win over California (8-8).

Olivia Smelas made a free throw and Bella Quinn sank a pair at the line to secure the win for the Bears (6-5).

Leila Hurley led the Bears with 18 points.

Kennedy Bankett had a game-best 19 points for California and Alicia Young scored 14.

Waynesburg 77, Pitt-Greensburg 46

Mia Henkins had 16 points and canned four three-pointers as Waynesburg secured a 77-46 road win at Pitt-Greensburg.

Waynesburg hit 10 threes as a team and built a 40-22 lead at halftime.

Macie Justice added 11 points for the Yellow Jackets (5-6).

Jocelyn Bielak scored a game-high 24 points for Pitt-Greensburg (1-11).
