Leroux hits 1,000 points as South Fayette beats Norwin
Juliette Leroux needed 31 points to get to 1,000 for her career Saturday and hit the target right on the nose.
Leroux had 15 points in the fourth quarter to finish with 31, including her 1,000th point, in a 70-32 win over Norwin in a nonsection game Saturday afternoon.
The defending Class 5A state champion Lions (14-1) breezed past WPIAL Class 6A perennial contender Norwin (10-2). They set the tone by shutting out the Knights 12-0 in the first quarter.
Lailah Wright added 18 points for the Lions. Aubrey Graney scored 11 points for the Knights.
Belle Vernon 52, Serra Catholic 46
Belle Vernon used a fourth quarter rally to down Serra Catholic 52-46 in nonsection action.
The Leopards (10-3) won the fourth quarter 16-6 and were paced by Aubrey Brown’s 14 points.
Abby Russell added 11 points and Lyla McConnell contributed 10 points for the Leopards.
Bella Dumbroski had 17 points for Serra Catholic (7-4). Lexi Pearce had 12 points and Niki Sfanos scored 10.
Ringgold 45, Frazier 16
Jada Gernot poured in 22 points and the Ringgold defense held Frazier to single-digits in all four quarters to secure a 45-16 nonsection win.
Alayna Macioce scored 10 points for the Rams (5-7). Ringgold led 23-7 at halftime.
Allie Yauch led Frazier (4-7) with 10 points.

Burgettstown 80, Weirton Madonna (W.Va.) 71
Blake Neal had 21 points and Colton County scored 20 to help Burgettstown pick up an 80-71 win at Weirton Madonna.
The Blue Devils trailed at halftime, but used a 43-33 advantage in the second half to rally for victory.
Bryce Speer had 14 points and four three-pointers for the Blue Devils (3-11) and Caleb Matalik chipped in 10 points.
Jake Druga led Weirton Madonna with 21 points and made six threes.
McGuffey 50, Brentwood 45
McGuffey rallied from a 15-point deficit in the second half to defeat Brentwood 50-45 in a nonsection game.
The Highlanders (7-7) outscored the Spartans 30-13 over the final two quarters.
Kolt McGowan had a game-high 18 points for McGuffey and Sam Stout scored 15.
Xh’avier Nunez and Deng Mu contributed 12 points each for the Spartans (7-7).
Washington 58, Chartiers-Houston 46
Behind Tristan Reed’s 26 points, Wash High (7-7) secured a 58-46 nonsection win against Chartiers-Houston (11-3).
Jamarie Walker finished with 10 points for the Prexies, who led 30-22 at halftime.
Aaron Walsh and Bryson Boskovich had 13 points apiece for the Bucs.
