Canon-Mac wrestling shines at Fred Bell Tournament
Canon-McMillan had two individual champions and won the team title at the Fred Bell Tournament in Grove City Saturday.
Lee Dreshman won a 16-4 major decision over Union City’s Van Ward in the 107-pound championship and Collier Hartman had a 15-4 major decision against Cranberry’s Dalton Wenner in the 139 pound final.
Canon-McMillan finished with 228.5 points, comfortably ahead of runner up Moon’s 196 and Trinity’s 195.
McGuffey’s Emmett Wolfe took home the 145-pound title with a 4-1 decision against Moon’s Zachary Regotti. Belle Vernon’s Elijah Brown won at 215 after receiving an injury default forfeit from Kiski Area’s Cooper Roscosky.
Bedford tournament
Beth-Center’s Mason Wright and West Greene’s Colin Whyte won individual titles at the Thomas Automotive Tournament at Bedford Saturday.
Wright won a major decision, 9-1, against Haydn Strittmatter of Central Cambria in the 133-pound title match.
Whyte pinned Central’s Blair Miller in the heavyweight championship bout.
