Eber spearheads Thomas Jefferson’s rally past Trinity
Thomas Jefferson High School’s Tyler Eber ran for three long touchdowns and helped the Jaguars rally for a 19-14 victory over Trinity at Hiller Field.
Thomas Jefferson is now 5-0 overall and Trinity is 3-3 overall as the game was the first for both teams in the WPIAL Class 5-A Allegheny 6 Conference.
Eber, who rushed for 271 Yards scored on runs of 56, 53 and 46 yards for the Jaguars, who have won 21 of the 25 games played between the teams, dating back to the 1980s. The Hillers had won two of the last three meetings.
Trinity led 14-12 at halftime. Its scoring drives were set up by a blocked punt and another punt that was for minus-one yard.
Hillers’ quarterback Owen Samogala threw touchdown passes to Jamir
Johnson and Ayvari Chandler. Cooper Cincinnati kicked two extra points.
Trinity had 300 yards of offense.
