Paige Tolson scored Marietta’s last 11 points of the game, including a go-ahead basket with 3:50 remaining, and the Pioneers defeated visiting Washington & Jefferson 63-59 in a nonconference women’s basketball game Wednesday afternoon.

Tolson scored a game-high 32 points, making 10 field goals and 10 of 11 free throws.

Her go-ahead basket put Marietta (6-2) up 53-52 and she followed it with a key three-point field goal that made it a two-possession game.

W&J (9-2), which had its nine-game winning streak snapped, led 24-22 at halftime after holding Marietta to four points in the second quarter. The Presidents led 43-42 entering the fourth.

Stellanie Loutsion had a big game for W&J, scoring 22 points to go with six assists. Meghan Dryburgh had a double-double of 10 points and 21 rebounds.
