Stevenson rallies past Waynesburg
Stevenson outscored Waynesburg by 16 in the second half to rally for a 73-63 triumph on Saturday in Owings Mills, Md.
The Yellow Jackets used a 9-0 run with four minutes remaining in the first half for a 28-23 halftime lead.
The Mustangs scored on seven of their first eight possessions in the second half for a 37-32 advantage.
Waynesburg (0-1) tied the game at 37 following a three-pointer by Jalen Goins before a 7-0 run put Stevenson ahead for good.
Grant Barnhart connected on back-to-back three-pointers to cut the deficit to 46-43 with 10 minutes to play, but another 7-0 run for the Mustangs put the game away.
Barnhart and Scott Bilovus scored 14 points apiece, and both made four 3-pointers. The Yellow Jackets shot 10 of 19 from three-point range.
PJ Suggs put in 12 points for Waynesburg.
