All-PAC Men’s basketball team announced
Two Washington & Jefferson players received Presidents’ Athletic Conference annual honors when the all-conference men’s basketball team was released Tuesday night.
Sophomore forward Nathan Plotner was named the PAC Defensive Player of the Year, and freshman swingman Cameron Rowell was tabbed the Newcomer of the Year.
Plotner also was named to the all-conference second team. He is the first W&J player to receive the top defensive honor. He finished the season as the PAC’s blocked shots leader and ranked 10th nationally with 70. Plotner added 55 steals, the eighth most in the conference. The sophomore also cleaned up on the glass, ranking second in the league with 9.4 rebounds per game.
Rowell averaged 10.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per game over 28 games (five starts). His 60 steals was second on the team.
W&J’s Matt Seidl received honorable mention on the all-conference team.
Waynesburg’s Antone Baker joined Plotner on the second team. Baker was Waynesburg’s leading scorer at 16.3 points per game and the PAC’s top rebounder at 10.0. Baker also ranks seventh nationally in offensive rebounding (4.26).
Chatham’s Diaun Pinkett was named the PAC Player of the Year and the Cougars’ Dave Richards won Coach of the Year.
