Small college basketball: Yellow Jackets win close one, move to 3-0
Scott Bilovus and Aidan Blake combined for 37 points as Waynesburg pulled out a 72-68 victory over Penn State New Kensington in a men’s basketball game Tuesday night at Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.
Bilovus scored a team-high 20 points and Blake followed with 17 as Waynesburg improved its record to 3-0.
The game was close throughout as neither team held a lead of more than six points.
With Waynesburg holding a two-point lead, Casey Keesee came up with a steal and an ensuing free throw with 14 seconds remaining. Keesee added another free throw with four seconds left that sealed the win.
Grant Barnhart came off the bench to score 11 points for Waynesburg.
Ta’Rasi Means had a game-high 23 points for PS-New Kenington but much of that production came in the first half.

Wash & Jeff 82, Baldwin-Wallace 68
Washington & Jefferson picke dup its first win of the season, an 82-68 road win over Baldwin-Wallace.
The Presidents (1-1) were led by the efforts of junior forward Nathan Plotner, who compiled his first double-double of the season. Plotner scored 19 points and hauled in 14. The junior also had six steals and three blocked shots. Matt Seidl, Quinton Burlenski, Nick Colucci and Nick Sukernek each scored 11 points.

Wash & Jeff 78, Penn State Behrend 66
Washington & Jefferson College won its season opener Monday over Penn State-Behrend, 78-66.
The Presidents used a strong fourth quarter, pouring in 30 points, to secure the victory. W&J also benefited from a solid three-point shooting effort, making 10-of-21 attempts.
Five players scored in double-figures for W&J, with both Riley DeRubbo and Marina Grado having career-best outings. DeRubbo led the Presidents with 24 points. Grado also posted a career-high in points with 14.
