College basketball: Friday perfect on Tuesday

Kalista Friday had a perfect day shooting the basketball, leading the Waynesburg women’s basketball team to an 86-54 romp over visiting Hood on Tuesday night.
Friday scored a game-high 25 points, going 9-for-9 from the field and making all six of her free-throw attempts.
Waynesburg (2-4) shot 51 percent from the field.
The Yellow Jackets led 39-30 at halftime and then pulled away in the second half, scoring 47 points.
Clara-Paige Miller scored 12 points and Kara McFadden contributed 10 for the Yellow Jackets.
Hood (2-4) received 14 points each from Jaylah Putnam and Maya Gordon.
Washington & Jefferson 68, La Roche 50
Washington & Jefferson forged a 20-point lead in the first quarter and cruised to a 68-50 victory over host La Roche in a nonconference game.
Katie Kovalchick led W&J (5-1) in scoring with a game-high 17 points. She also had three of the Presidents’ 14 steals as W&J forced 20 turnovers by La Roche (0-5).
Raegan Kadlecik followed in the scoring column with 11 points and Stellanie Loutsion tossed in 10. Marina Grado had four steals.
Jazmine Dunn paced the Red Hawks with 14 points.
W&J never trailed in the game and led 27-7 after one quarter and 42-17 at halftime.
