W&J blows past Hiram in historic road win

Washington & Jefferson put up the most points it has scored in a road game in 134 years in a 70-13 drubbing of Hiram Saturday.
The last time the Presidents scored 70 or more points in a road game was against West Virginia, a 72-0 win in 1891. It’s only the second time it has happened.
With the win the Presidents improved to 2-0 in Presidents’ Athletic Conference play and 2-2 overall. Hiram fell to 1-2, 2-3.
Kobe Derosa had three touchdown runs and caught a touchdown for the Presidents. Andrew Sharp and Cam Mulvaney had two touchdown runs apiece.
John Peduzzi recovered a blocked punt and ran it in 19 yards to open the scoring. Peduzzi also had a 27-yard touchdown reception with two seconds remaining in the first half to make the score 49-7.
W&J quarterback Kellan Stahl passed for 259 yards and two touchdowns.
While the offense lit up the scoreboard, the Presidents’ defense had a stellar day as well with five interceptions. They had 15 tackles for loss and five sacks.
Allegheny 21, Waynesburg 11
Allegheny spoiled Waynesburg’s homecoming game with a 21-11 win Saturday.
Making his first college start, Gators quarterback Nick Barker threw three touchdown passes.
Allegheny (2-1, 2-3) led 14-3 after three quarters, but Carson Shriver scored a 1-yard touchdown for Waynesburg (2-1, 2-3) and a successful two-point conversion run by Luke Hudson cut the lead to three.
The Gators responded with a long drive that ended with a 9-yard touchdown pass from Baker to David Williams.
