California cruises past Lock Haven
CALIFORNIA – Eighth-ranked California faced little resistance from Lock Haven in a 42-6 victory at Adamson Stadium.
The Vulcans (3-0) scored a little over three minutes into the game when Roman Purcell found Jeff Nyamekye with a 32-yard touchdown pass.
Bobbie Boyd had a pair of touchdown runs, one of three yards and another from one-yard out to make it 21-0 midway through the second quarter.
Then the California defense got involved in the action with Tavin Willis intercepting a pass and returning it 63-yards for a score.
Amire Spencer caught a 12-yard pass from Purcell to make it 35-0 with 2:43 remaining until halftime.
Lock Haven (1-2) broke the shutout when Jack Ostrowski connected with Connor Foltz for a 21-yard touchdown in the final minute of the first half.
Keondre DeShields, who also plays on the Vulcans men’s basketball team, caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Phaeton Hill in the fourth quarter.
