High school baseball: Charleroi rallies in 7th to beat Brownsville

Jake Corrin hit a two-run single to center field with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Charleroi a 10-9 come-from-behind win over Brownsville in a non-section game Friday.

Charleroi (9-4) trailed 9-5 entering the bottom of the seventh. A bases-loaded walk and Kaden Woods’ two-run single cut the gap to 9-8 and set up Corrin’s game-winning hit.

Brock Henderson was the winning pitcher in relief. Tyler O’Neil and Jace Pager each had a double for the Cougars.

Trinity 10, Albert Gallatin 0

Trinity broke open a close game by scoring nine runs over the final two innings to beat visiting Albert Gallatin 10-0 in non-section action.

Trinity (7-5) led 1-0 entering the bottom of the fifth, when the Hillers scored four times. They ended the game with a five-run sixth.

Winning pitcher Cam Schofield and reliever Cole Carl combined on a one-hitter, a double by the Colonials’ Jason Myers, Carl and Schofield each drove in two runs.

Schofield, Jonah Williamson, Logan Daniels and Kaden Hathaway each had a double for Trinity.

Carmichaels 11, Chartiers-Houston 9

Liam Lohr went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI, powering Carmichaels to an 11-9 come-from-behind win at Chartiers-Houston in a non-section game.

Carmichaels (9-2) overcame an 8-4 deficit. The Mikes took the lead at 9-8 in the sixth inning when Dom Colarusso was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Colarusso had a triple.

Luke Camden drove in three runs, and Justus Buckingham and Nico Filosi doubled for C-H (6-7).

Jefferson-Morgan 4, California 0

Starter John Woodward and reliever Brock Bayles combined on a three-hit shutout as Jefferson-Morgan defeated California 4-0 in Class A Section 1.

J-M (4-6, 6-6) scored three times in the fourth inning. That was enough support for the Rockets’ pitchers. Woodward allowed two hits and struck out 11 in 5⅓ innings and Bayles got the final five outs for a save.

Bayles and Brenton Barnhart each hit a double.

Chris Cicchitto doubled for California (2-6, 3-10).

Avella 15, Mapletown 5

Avella scored eight runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and defeated visiting Mapletown 15-5 in Class A Section 1.

Avella’s Bryce Wright had a big game, going 4-for-5 with a triple, two doubles, four runs and three RBI. Brian Martos doubled and drove in three, and winning pitcher Cole Jaworowski doubled for Avella (7-3, 8-3).

A.J. Vanata hit a home run, and Jeremiah Mick and Josh Howard tripled, for Mapletown (0-8, 2-10).
