High school basketball: Walsh’s career game powers Bucs
Junior Aaron Walsh poured in a career-high 28 points, leading four Chartiers-Houston players in double figures as the Bucs defeated visiting Brentwood 72-55 Wednesday night.
C-H (3-1) trailed 12-7 after one quarter but outscored the Spartans 27-11 in the pivotal second quarter. Walsh had 10 of his points in the period.
Justus Buckingham tossed in 13 points, Nate Gregory had 12 and Payl Williamson scored 10 for the Bucs.
Colton Rosling had a game-high 31 points, including five three-point baskets, for Brentwood (1-3).

Connellsville 45, Belle Vernon 37
Belle Vernon’s Aubrey Brown scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed 17 rebounds but Connellsville put three players in double figures and edged the Leopards 45-37 in a nonsection game.
Maggie Orndorff and Elizabeth Painter each tallied 11 points for Connellsville (1-5) and Whitney Bobish had 10. The Falcons led 26-18 at halftime but Belle Vernon (2-3) closed to within 31-29 after three quarters.
Abby Russell scored 10 points for the Leps.
