High school basketball: West Greene gets win in West Virginia
The West Greene boys basketball team made the short trip across the state line and came back with a victory Wednesday night.
Lane Allison scored a game-high 29 points and the Pioneers downed Hundred (W.Va.) 60-41 in a nonsection contest.
Parker Burns added 13 points for West Greene (4-2) and Patrick Durbin scored 12.
Brayden Bartig had 17 points for the Hornets.
Seton LaSalle 69, Waynesburg 60
Larry Brown scored 25 points and Seton LaSalle outscored the host Raiders 16-5 in the fourth quarter to rally for a nonsection win Tuesday.
Waynesburg held a 37-35 halftime advantage and led 55-53 after three quarters.
Patrick Weldon added 17 points for the Rebels (2-4).
Dane Woods had 18 points and six rebounds for the Raiders (0-6) who also got 13 points from Cole Headlee, six rebounds from Alex Eck and three assists from Alex VanSickle.
West Mifflin 61, Ringgold 57
Draven Reynolds had 19 points to lead three West Mifflin players in double figures in a Class nonsection victory over Ringgold on Tuesday.
Julian Newberry added 16 points for the Titans (1-7) and Jerome Corbett scored 10.
Ringgold (2-3) had four players score in double figures.
Demitri Lowe led the way with 14 points. Xavion Thomas scored 12 and Braylen Lomax and Szyair Dungee contributed 11 points apiece.
Girls results
Waynesburg 40, Washington 33
Waynesburg held host Washington to one point in the first quarter and went on to a 40-33 victory Wednesday in a nonsection game at Wash High Gymnasium.
Waynesburg (4-2) led 11-1 after one quarter and remained in the lead the rest of the way.
Avery Davis led the Raiders with 17 points. Olivia Woods tossed in a game-high 23 points for Wash High (3-5).
Ringgold 58, Propel Montour 27
Alayna Macioce and Olivia Dibernardo combined for 35 points, sparking Ringgold to a 58-27 victory over Propel Montour in a nonsection contest.
The win evens Ringgold’s record at 3-3. The Rams jumped out to a 17-4 lead after one quarter and were in command throughout. Macioce led Ringgold with 20 points, Dibernardo added 15 and Allison Bracher had 12.
