Wrestling roundup: Late forfeit pushes Bentworth past Jefferson-Morgan

Drake McClure (133) received a forfeit in the final match, which secured a Class 2A, Section 3 victory for Bentworth over Jefferson-Morgan on Wednesday night.

Prior to the forfeit, Jefferson-Morgan (0-1, 1-2) had won five matches in a row to take the lead, including four consecutive pins from Brayden Hanning (107), Caleb Dulaney (114), Connor Pinchok (121) and Ej Lingenfield (127).

Johnny Gilbert (145) had a pin for the Rockets to give them a 6-3 lead and then Bentworth (2-0, 4-4) went on a tear. Paxton Thomas (152), Owen Ivcic (160) and Racer Lister (172) accrued consecutive pins. Brayden Taggert (189) won by tech fall and Abe House (215) secured a 13-7 decision.

Beth-Center 40, Yough 32

Mason Wright (139 pounds) and Noah Layhue (189) won by fall to help Beth-Center (2-0) earn a nonsection victory over Yough (1-1).

Malachi Peak (215) and Alex Medlen (picked up wins via technical fall for the Bulldogs.

Chad Brown (121) had a pin for Yough and Dominic Liscotti (145) won by tech. fall.

Both teams received three victories from forfeits.

Chartiers-Houston 53, Keystone Oaks 21

Kamden Stamm (121), Jake Lyle (Hvy) and Dadrien Walls (152) won by fall for Chartiers-Houston (2-0) in a nonsection victory over Keystone Oaks (3-4).

Jose Ambriz (114) won by tech. fall, 24-9, for the Bucs.

Jonah Hostutler (127) and Dylan Jones (139) had a pin apiece for the Golden Eagles.

Trinity 57, Chartiers Valley 16

Trinity rolled to a 57-16 victory over visiting Chartiers Valley in a Class 3A Section 2 match that had every bout end in either a pin or a technical fall.

Trinity received pins from Jackson Hoy (107), Dominick Canali (127), Frank Fedorachek (133), Devin Junko (145), Luke Poland (160), Teagan Barr (189) and Hunter Martin (heavyweight). The Hillers’ winners by technical fall included Parker Jennings (114), Landon Ault (121) and Thomas Allison (152). None of the bouts advanced to the third period.

Peters Township 55, Baldwin 17

Peters Township won five bouts via fall and rolled over Baldwin, 55-17, in a Class 3A Section 3 match.

Winning by fall for the Indians were Darius McMillon, Brody Ketner, Carson Kiger, Nicholas McGarrity and Colton Stocker.
