Wash High girls edge Burgettstown despite Klodowski’s 30
Olivia Woods scored 23 points to help Washington slip past Burgettstown, 51-47, Monday night in nonsection girls basketball action.
Paige Klodowski had a historic night for Burgettstown (3-5), making a school-record eight 3-pointers. Klodowski finished with 30 points.
Shawnti Fuller scored 10 points for the Little Prexies (4-5).
Yough 55, Charleroi 23:
Hailey Bock and Evelyn Gates scored 17 points apiece to lead Yough (7-3) past Charleroi, 55-23, in a nonsection game.
Yough jumped out to a 21-7 lead in the first quarter.
Eden Smith led Charleroi with 10 points and Anna Kondratowicz scored seven.

Avella 47, Hillel Academy 16:
Avella trailed after one quarter, then held visiting Hillel Academy to only six points the rest of the way and went on to a 47-16 victory in a nonsection game.
Avella (4-3), which moved above the .500 mark, trailed 10-7 after one quarter before outscoring the visitors from the Squirrel Hill section of Pittsburgh 16-1 in the pivotal second quarter and 17-2 in the third.
Brayden Fuller led Avella in scoring with 13 points and Rylan Bell tossed in 10.
Charleroi 62, Yough 40:
Shea Smith scored 20 points and Noah Pletcher had a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds, helping Charleroi (5-4) secure a nonsection win over Yough (1-9).
Charleroi came out strong after halftime and outscored Yough, 14-4, in the third quarter.
Jaiden Dickson had 14 points for Yough and Ryan Westerman had 10 points.
Carmichaels 43, Burgettstown 39:
Robbie Wilson-Jones scored 14 points and Carmichaels held off visiting Burgettstown 43-39 in a Class 2A Section 3 game on the Mikes’ home court.
Carmichaels (1-2, 1-5) led 23-18 at halftime before Burgettstown (0-3, 1-5) closed to within three points deep into the fourth quarter. A late free throw by Wilson-Jones made it a two possession game.
Ryan Warrick led Burgettstown in scoring with 12 points.
