Kovach leads Rebels to victory in AC Cap Classic

Burgettstown’s Eric Kovach entered the fifth inning without allowing a hit in the Washington Rebels’ 3-0 win over Ebotikoke, Ontario, on Sunday at the AC Cap Classic 18-U tournament.

Kovach had 14 strikeouts and walked three in six innings to earn the victory. Bentworth’s Lucas Burt recorded the last three outs for the save.

Trinity’s Jackson Burt had two hits, including a double.

Bentworth’s John Scott had two hits in the Rebels’ 4-3 setback to Hardball Elite.

Jackson Burt and the Bearcats’ Sam Wade combined for seven strikeouts and allowed two earned runs.

Beth-Center’s Jackson Nopwaskey had a four-hitter in the Rebels’ 8-0 triumph over the Stark Raiders. Nopwaskey helped himself out with a triple.

Sam Elich and Wade had two hits apiece. Tim Hoffman had two of Stark’s four hits, including a double.
