Charleroi softball wins two in Tennessee

Charleroi won both games in non-section softball action this weekend in Tennessee.

The Cougars earned a 4-3 walk-off victory over South Doyle on Sunday. Charleroi dominated Campbell County 13-1 in five innings on Saturday.

Sofia Celaschi won both games with a total of 24 strikeouts and four walks in both contests. Teammate Riley Jones was 3-for-4 with a double, triple and home run against South Doyle.

The Cougars’ Emma Stefanick was 2-for-4 in Sunday’s game.

Ariahna Blouse and Lyla Brunner each hit home runs against Campbell County.

Charleroi returns to action on Thursday at Uniontown in non-section play.

Peters Township 12, Ringgold 0

The Indians were too much for the Rams in non-section play on Saturday.

Lili Giulianelli had a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts for Peters Township. Teammates Skylar Lemansky (two hits) and Avery Carson (HR) contributed for the Indians.

Daniella Vecchio had six strikeouts for Ringgold.

Meyersdale 16, West Greene 1

The Pioneers dropped a non-section game in five innings to Meyersdale on Saturday at the Ripken games in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Meyersdale pitcher Izabella Donaldson struck out seven in throwing four perfect innings. Laurel Daniels threw the last inning. Donaldson hit two home runs.

The Pioneers’ Payton Gilbert struck out four and walked one. Samantha Zimmerman came on in relief of Gilbert, and had one of West Greene’s two hits, with Emmaline Beazell adding the other. Beazell scored on Ali Goodwin’s sacrifice fly in the fifth.
