Chartiers-Houston advances to WPIAL Class 2A quarterfinals
Anthony Romano had three hits and Luke Camden hit a solo home run in Chartiers-Houston’s 7-4 triumph over Freedom in the first round of the WPIAL Class 2A baseball playoffs at Burkett Park.
Keegan Kosek had two hits, a double and two RBI.
The Bucs (10-8) play Serra Catholic on Monday in the quarterfinals with the site and time to be determined.
Greensburg Central Catholic 3, Washington 2
Washington cut the deficit to 3-2 in the fifth inning, but Greensburg Central Catholic hung on for a 3-2 win in the first round of the WPIAL Class 2A playoffs at Gateway.
The Prexies (9-10) were led offensively by Ayvari Chandler, who doubled. Caleb Patton and William Callan had two hits apiece.
Joseph Wilson singled and drove in a run for Washington.
Laurel 7, Charleroi 2
Laurel scored six runs in the fifth and held on for a 7-2 win over Charleroi in the first round of the WPIAL Class 2A playoffs at Burkett Park.
The Cougars’ Jace Pager, Jake Beveridge, Kaden Woods, Tyler O’Neil, Brock Henderson and Jackson Keranko had one hit apiece.
Keranko and Wood each had an RBI.
