Belle Vernon scores record 68 points
BELLE VERNON – Three Belle Vernon players scored two touchdowns each and the Leopards set a school single-game scoring record in a 68-21 victory over Chartiers Valley on Friday night in the Class 4A Big Six Conference.
Kole Doppleheuer had TD runs of 49 and 39 yards, Deaubre Lightfoot caught a 49-yard TD pass and returned a punt 60 yards for a score, and Anthony Crews had a 79-yard run and four-yard TD catch. Curt Wade ran for one touchdown and threw two scoring passes.
Belle Vernon (1-1, 2-3) led 53-7 at halftime.
