Seneca Valley rallies to edge Canon-McMillan, 31-30
HARMONY – Brayden Wise caught a 39-yard touchdown pass with 5:45 remaining and Max Eisenhut kicked the extra point that capped a second-half comeback by Seneca Valley and gave the Raiders a 31-30 victory over visiting Canon-McMillan in a Class 6A Quad County Conference game Friday night.
Seneca Valley (2-1, 2-4) led 10-0 in the first quarter before Canon-McMillan (1-2, 2-5) charged back and took a 20-10 lead into halftime. The Big Macs led 27-10 in the third quarter and 30-24 in the fourth quarter.
After trailing 10-0, Canon-McMillan used a pair of TD runs by Evan Morris, covering 14 and 15 yards, to take the lead. Following the first of two interceptions by Brayden Collins, T.J. Sabatucci hauled in a 23-yard TD pass from Ty Jansma for a 21-10 lead.
Morris scored his third touchdown, on a 28-yard run, in the third quarter.
Seneca Valley scored two quick touchdowns, including a 51-yard interception return by Reese Framer, to close to within 27-24.
Zach Barzd’s 35-yard field goal gave the Big Macs a six-point lead with 9:48 remaining, but Seneca Valley went ahead on the ensuing possession.
