Two punt returns spark NA past Big Macs
CANONSBURG – Canon-McMillan had a six-point lead before North Allegheny scored 38 unanswered in a 38-6 victory in Class 6A Quad County Conference action Friday night.
Roman Cimarolli caught a 26-yard touchdown reception from Ty Jansma for a 6-0 lead with 9:42 left in the first quarter.
Brady Brinkley’s 27-yard run and Peter Notaro’s extra point gave the Tigers (4-1, 7-1) a 7-6 lead with 2:00 left in the first quarter. Notaro kicked a 49-yard field goal before Nicholas Humphries (65 yards) and James Donaldson (52 yards) returned punts for touchdown to increase North Allegheny’s advantage to 23-6 at the half.
The Tigers scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
The Big Macs fell to 1-3 in conference play and 2-6 overall.
