Riveters add Canon-Mac’s Bane

The Pittsburgh Riveters women’s soccer team that will debut next month in the USLW women’s soccer league announced Thursday the addition of forward Lilly Bane to the roster.
Bane is a senior at Canon-McMillan and was an All-WPIAL selection and helped the Big Macs to the Class 4A semifinals last fall. She joined the Riverhounds Developmental Academy and plays on the club’s 2006/07 team in the Elite Clubs National League.
“Lilly joined the Academy recently and has improved immensely in such a short period of time,” said Riveters head coach Scott Gibson. “She is very good technically, has an excellent left foot and is a constant goal threat. She will bring an energy to the team in both training and games, and we believe this opportunity will take her game to the next level.”
Bane was one of two roster additions announced by the Riveters. The other is defender Natalie DiSora, who is a junior at Upper St. Clair.
