High school soccer: Chartiers-Houston defends home field at weekend tournament

Chartiers-Houston recorded a pair of victories at the annual season opening tournament it hosts.
Grace Littlecott scored in the second half to give the Bucs a 1-0 win over McGuffey on Sunday. Amelia Brose assisted on the goal.
On Saturday, Brose scored three times, all in the first half to help Chartiers-Houston defeat Brownsville 4-0 Saturday. Nana Bimpong added a goal in the second half and Bucks keeper Hailey Seige made eight saves.
McGuffey 7, Steel Valley 0
Madison Crowe scored three goals and had an assist to lead McGuffey to a 7-0 win over Steel Valley in the Char-Houston Tournament Saturday. Ella Wolfe netted two goals and had an assist, Cora Thomas had a goal and assist each and Brooklyn Daniels scored a goal. Hannah McDonald registered an assist.
Peters Township 1, South Fayette 1
Peters Township and South Fayette played to a 1-1 draw Saturday in a matchup of defending WPIAL champions. Brynn Busch scored for the Indians. Gabby Beinecke had a goal for the Lions.
Trinity 0, Carlynton 0
Trinity and Carlynton played to a scoreless draw Saturday. Haley Mitchell had a shutout in goal for the Hillers.

McGuffey 4, Chartiers-Houston 0
McGuffey secured a 4-0 win Sunday to beat tournament host Chartiers-Houston in the championship game. The Highlanders beat Carlynton 2-0 on Saturday. Ben Piatt had three goals over the two games.
Chartiers-Houston 7, Brownsville 1
Josh Hawkins scored a pair of goals to help Chartiers-Houston defeat Brownsville 7-1 on Saturday.
N Ryan Moessner had a hat trick to lead Bentworth to a 4-0 win over Blackhawk Saturday at the Canon-McMillan Tournament. Adam Moessner added a goal for the Bearcats and Charles Nuttall, Caden Hackinson, Blake Lusk and Paxton Thomas recorded an assist.
Peters Township 3, Bethel Park 1
Anthony Maiello scored twice and Nathan Matuszewski had a goal for Peters Township in a 3-1 victory over Bethel Park Saturday.
Ringgold 1, Elizabeth Forward 0
Izaiah Wilson scored off a corner kick by Michael Stasko for the game’s lone goal in a 1-0 win for Ringgold over Elizabeth Forward Saturday. Donovan Fortuna kept a clean sheet in goal for the Rams.
OLSH 2, Trinity 1
Brady Anderson had a goal, but Trinity fell 2-1 to OLSH at the Canon-McMillan Tournament.
