Aliquippa passes test at Belle Vernon
Marques Council Jr. threw for 281 yards and three touchdowns Friday night in a 42-7 win for Aliquippa (1-0) at Belle Vernon (0-1).
Council hit QaLil Goode for a 62-yard touchdown in the first quarter.
Chase Petrosky returned the ensuing kickoff for an 87-yard touchdown to tie the game, but Aliquippa scored 35 unanswered points.
Council had a 66-yard run for a score that made it 14-7 and connected with Akiva Woods on a 70-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
Cameron Cannon had a pair of two-yard touchdown runs for the Quips and Anthony Ingram had a 29-yard touchdown reception.
