High school wrestling: Jefferson-Morgan secures road win at South Park

Austin Grandel (107) and Caleb Dulaney (114) set the tone with pins in the first minute of their bouts to help Jefferson-Morgan top South Park, 47-24, Wednesday night.

Connor Pinchok (127) and James Dulaney (133) also won by fall for the Rockets.

Brayden Hannings picked up a 10-1 major decision at 121 and Ej Lingenfield recorded a 9-8 decision at 139 for the Rockets, while Geno Orlandi (160) and Payton Bastian (189) won by tech fall.

Landon Heath received a forfeit at heavyweight.

Chartiers-Houston 70, Brashear 5

Chartiers-Houston won seven matches via a pin and two more by tech. Fall in a 70-5 win over Brashear.

John Dove (114 pounds), Maison Robinson (121), Peyton Garove (139), Caleb Tewell (145), Daidrien Walls (160) and Brayden Thomson (172) all won by fall in the first period of their respective matches.

Kamden Stamm (127) and Tyler Clayton (215) won by tech fall.

Xavier Andrews (133) was the lone winner for Brashear via tech fall.

Belle Vernon 64, McKeesport 12

Belle Vernon won six bouts via pin and two others on technical falls en route to a 64-12 thumping of visiting McKeesport.

Brayden Broadwater (114), Enzo Ortolona (121), Jackson Shawley (133), Eric Granato (145), Vander Raczkowski (152) and Eric Adamec (172) each won by fall for the Leopards. Rylee Doppelheuer (127) won by a 18-0 technical fall and Colby Hibner (160) was an 18-1 winner.

McKeesport forfeited three weight classes, including at 220 to defending state champion Elijah Brown.

Beth-Center 49, Brownsville 22

Beth-Center was strong in both the lower weights and upper weights, and did enough in the middle to beat visiting Brownsville, 49-22.

The Bulldogs won five of the six lowest weights and swept the three upper weights, gaining 18 points.

Noah McCollum (114), Mason Wright (139), Malachi Peak (215) and Noah Layhue (Hvy) each won by fall for Beth-Center.

Brownsville’s Cynseir Douglas (127) and Ricky Pontious (152) had pins.

Bentworth 54, Frazier 6

Brock McClure (133), Bryce Crowson (145) and Brayden Taggart (215) won by fall for Bentworth in a 54-6 drubbing of Frazier.

The Bearcats secured four other wins by forfeit. Drake McClure (139), Owen Ivcic (172), Paxton Thomas (189) and Rusty Debolt (Hvy) were the beneficiaries of the forfeits.

Emmett Erdley got Frazier’s lone victory via a first period pin.
