Trinity places 6th at WPIAL Rifle Team Championships
Trinity finished two spots short of qualifying for the state tournament, placing sixth, but led three local schools at the WPIAL rifle Team Championships Tuesday at Dormont-Mt. Lebanon Sportsmen’s Club.
The Hillers had a score of 794-55x
McGuffey (794-51x) finished one spot behind Trinity in seventh and West Greene (792-43x) placed ninth.
Woodland Hills posted a score of 800-53x to win its seventh WPIAL title and first since 2016.
The Wolverines had two individuals that posted a perfect score, Avery Thomas and Shamira Pennell.
Butler’s Brooke Schramm also had a perfect score.
Miranda Schury had the best score for the Hillers at 100-7x.
Rachel Scott, Elizabeth Whiteman and Rylie Fuller each finished at 100-8x for the Highlanders.
Jlin Scott and Autumn Cumberledge led West Greene with a 100-7x.
The WPIAL rifle Individual Championship is Thursday and also will be held at Dormont-Mt. Lebanon Sportsmen’s Club.
