McClure, Whyte win championships at Burgettstown Invitational
Bentworth’s Drake McClure (133 pounds) and West Greene’s Colin Whyte (Heavyweight) were the two local wrestlers that won a title at the Burgettstown Invitational Saturday.
McClure won a 4-0 decision over Beth-Center’s Mason Wright in his championship match. Whyte secured a 4-1 decision over Laurel’s Casey Wilson.
Bentworth’s Owen Ivcic lost a tight 12-11 decision to Gabe Lilly of Ellwood City in the 160-pound championship match.
Brown wins at WCCA’s
Belle Vernon’s Elijah Brown won a 4-0 decision over Kiski Area’s Cooper Roscosky to secure the 212-pound championship Saturday at the WCCA Tournament at Greensburg Salem.
Brown went 4-0 in the tournament and had a 9-1 major decision over Burrell’s Luke Boylan in the semifinals.
