Wrestling roundup: J-M pins first section loss on Beth-Center

Jefferson-Morgan dealt Beth-Center its first loss in Class 2A Section 3 competition, defeating the Bulldogs 55-15 Wednesday night on the Rockets’ mats.

J-M (2-1, 8-3) won all but three weight classes, five via fall and two on forfeits. Brayden Hanning (107), Caleb Dulaney (114), Connor PInchok (127), Johnny Gilbert (139) and Tristan Miller (215) registered the pins for the Rockets.

Beth-Center (2-1, 4-7) had pins by Mason Wright (133) and Malachi Peak (189).

Trinity 65, Waynesburg 3

Landon Ault (121 pounds), Jacob Wright (133), Devin Junko (139) and Thomas Allison (152) had a pin apiece as Trinity () rolled past Waynesburg () in a Class 3A, Section () match.

Dominick Canali (127) and Behr Bruckner (160) won by tech. fall for the Hillers, Jackson Bruckner (189) earned a major decision and Hunter Martin picked up a 1-0 decision at heavyweight.

Brock Evans secured a 7-0 decision for Waynesburg’s lone victory of the match.

McGuffey 65, West Greene 6

McGuffey remained undefeated in Class 2A Section 1 matches by thumping host West Greene 65-6.

Forfeits were numerous as the Highlanders (2-0, 12-4) picked up 36 points on six forfeits. Garrett Newman (152), Red Teagarden (172) and Damyn Pevarnak each won by fall, each in the first minute, for McGuffey.

West Greene’s points came on a first-minute fall by heavyweight Colin Whyte in the third bout of the match.

Belle Vernon 68, Laurel Highlands 6

Vander Raczkowski (132 pounds), Kole Doppelheure (152), Eric Adamec (182) and Elijah Brown (220) secured a pin apiece to help Belle Vernon (3-1) down Laurel Highlands (1-3) in a nonsection match.

Deyson Soto won by tech. Fall at 138 pounds and Colby Hibner followed with a 9-2 decision at 145.

Chartiers-Houston 54, Washington 17

In a match that had eight forfeits, Chartiers-Houston won three of the five bouts held in a Class 2A Section 1 win.

Angelo Mele (139 pounds), Owen Straight (172) and Jacob Lyle (Hvy) won by fall for the Bucs (2-0, 5-0). Noah Patton had a pin for Washington (0-2, 0-2) and Caleb Patton won by technical fall.
