High School Basketball: Peters Township girls lose in Ohio
Peters Township led by two points after one quarter, but Olentangy used a 17-9 advantage in the second quarter to take control in a 56-39 victory Saturday in a girls basketball game at the Classic in the City at Pickerington Central High School in Ohio.
Whitney Stafford led the Braves with 18 points.
Bri Morreale had a team-high 15 points for Peters Township and Natalie Wetzel scored 13.
Geibel Catholic 54, West Greene 35
Emma Larkin’s 33 points helped Geibel Catholic (7-1, 14-1) pull away from West Greene (3-4, 9-4) in the second half en route to a 54-35 win in a Class A, Section 2 girls basketball game Saturday.
After taking a six-point lead into halftime, the Gators held West Greene to only three points in the third quarter and extended their advantage to 39-24.
Mallory Clemmer scored eight of 12 points in the second half for Geibel.
Madelyn Roberts led West Greene with 14 points followed by Kendra Tharp, who scored 11.
