High School Baseball: Big inning propels Chartiers-Houston past Fort LeBeouf
Chartiers-Houston scored seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to secure an 8-3 win over Fort LeBeouf.
Justus Buckingham had the big hit in the fourth, a two-run single. Brady Robaugh picked up the win with one strikeout over six innings.
The Bucs drew 10 walks in the game.
Canon-McMillan 9, Trinity 7
Colin Yeager and Teddy Burke had a home run apiece and Canon-McMillan held off a late rally by Trinity in a 9-7 win.
Burke and Ben Peterson recorded three hits for the Big Macs.
The Hillers trailed by eight runs, but scored three runs each in the sixth and seventh innings. Derek Falvo drove in three runs for Trinity.
Carmichaels 7, California 7
In a rare occurrence, Carmichaels and California tied a baseball game.
The score was tied 7-7 after seven complete innings and the game was deemed completed.
The Trojans scored the go-ahead run on an error in the bottom of the sixth, but Dillon Fisher responded with an RBI double for Carmichaels in the top of the seventh. Fisher had two doubles on the day.
Caden Monticelli singled twice for California. Parker Gillen and Caden Monticelli had two RBI apiece.
Peters Township 6, North Hills 0
James Stewart pitched four shutout innings, allowing only one hit and struck out five to lead Peters Township to a 6-0 victory over North Hills.
Zachary Miner had a double and a pair of RBI. Jackson Stocker had an RBI single.
McGuffey 6, Ligonier Valley 4
Sam Stout tripled and had 2 RBIs to help McGuffey to Ligonier Valley, 6-4.
Reno Presto earned the win for the Highlanders and had a pair of RBI. Cam Dames recorded the final two outs to get the save.
