Laurel blanks Jefferson-Morgan

NEW CASTLE – Luca Santini threw two touchdown passes to Ethan Hamilla and ran for another score as Laurel defeated short-handed Jefferson-Morgan 35-0 in a Class A first-round game Friday night.

Laurel (10-1) scored in every quarter and led 21-0 at halftime.

Santini threw a 15-yard TD pass to Hamilla to open the scoring, then added a five-yard scoring run to give the Spartans a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.

Santini’s second scoring pass to Hamilla covered 16 yards. Kolton Carlson and Jacob McBride each contributed a five-yard touchdown run.

Jefferson-Morgan (8-3) played without wide receiver Deakyn DeHoet, who had scored 28 touchdowns during the regular season.
