Walsh, Chartiers-Houston rally for win over Mapletown

MAPLETOWN – Chartiers-Houston scored 21 points in the fourth quarter and rallied for a 35-28 win Friday night.

Mapletown led 28-13 after three quarters, but C-H (2-1) used a three-yard touchdown run by Jacob Luba two minutes into the fourth quarter and a 62-yard scoring jaunt by Aaron Walsh five minutes later to pull the Bucs to within 28-27.

Walsh scored the game-winning touchdown on a five-yard run with 4:48 remaining and added a two-point conversion. Walsh finished with 224 rushing yards on 22 carries.

Walsh had an 8-yard TD run in the third quarter and opened the scoring with a 7-yard scoring pass to Julia Livingston.

Carson Vanata had TD runs of 2 and 56 yards for Mapletown (1-2) and threw a 13-yard scoring pass to Landon Johnson. Colton McKnight had a 1-yard scoring plunge in the final minute of the first half.

Vanata carried 33 times for 271 yards.
