Fast-starting Fort Cherry moves to 6-0
McDONALD – Undefeated Fort Cherry scored two touchdowns in the game’s first 53 seconds and went on to a 42-9 victory over Burgettstown in a Class A Black Hills Conference game Friday night at Jim Garry Stadium.
Ryan Huey gave Fort Cherry (3-0, 6-0) a 7-0 lead 41 seconds into the game with a 10-yard TD run. Only 12 seconds later, Matt Sieg made it 14-0 with a 20-yard scoring run.
Sieg would add a 24-yard TD run in the final minute of the opening quarter, which gave FC a 28-0 lead.
Eli Salvini had touchdown runs of 19 and 35 yards, and Christian Yanosko broke off a 59-yard TD run. The Rangers led 42-3 at halftime.
Colton County booted a 29-yard field goal for Burgettstown (0-3, 1-4) and Brady Rightweiser had a one-yard TD plunge in the fourth quarter.
