TJ uses late touchdown to edge Belle Vernon

BELLE VERNON – Harrison Kolling threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Dominic Volomino with 2:19 remaining in the fourth quarter and Thomas Jefferson (1-0, 5-1) escaped Belle Vernon (0-1, 1-4) with a 14-10 victory in a Class 4A Big Six Conference thriller Friday night.

Emmett Forte intercepted a Curtis Wade pass in the final moments to seal the win.

Wade threw a 73-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Dicenzo earlier in the fourth quarter, which gave the Leopards a 10-7 lead.

Preston Rathway was true on a 37-yard field goal in the first quarter, which gave Belle Vernon a 3-0 lead. Tyler Eber scored on a 17-yard run to put Thomas Jefferson in front 7-3 at halftime.
