Palmer, Ebner spark TJ over Belle Vernon
BELLE VERNON – Josh Palmer threw three first-half touchdown passes and Cam Ebner ran for a pair of second in the second half as Thomas Jefferson defeated Belle Vernon 34-6 in a season-opening game Friday night matching former conference rivals.
Thomas Jefferson led 21-0 at halftime and was never threatened by the Leopards.
Palmer threw scoring passes of 40 and four yards to Kane Eggerton and a 46-yard TD to Elijah Fant to put the Jaguars up 21-0. Palmer finished with 159 passing yards.
Ebner, who rushed for 140 yards, had scoring jaunts of 49 and 12 yards in the third quarter that ended with TJ leading 34-6.
Belle Vernon’s lone touchdown came on a 30-yard pass from Jace Gedekoh to Cam Jenko.
