PIAA soccer finals moving to Highmark Stadium

The state high school soccer championships have a new home and it’s much closer for local teams.

On Wednesday the PIAA announced that Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh will be the site of the state boys and girls soccer championships beginning in 2026 and will remain there for the next four years.

Highmark Stadium, which is the home venue for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Riveters, has been the site of the WPIAL Championships since 2013.

Recently the state soccer championships have been held at Eagle View Middle School adjacent to Cumberland Valley High School and this fall they were held at Northeastern High School in Manchester.

A couple of other sports have new venues for PIAA championships.

Girls volleyball is moving from Cumberland Valley to St. Francis University in Loretto. cross country will be at Big Spring High School in Newville, leaving its longtime home at Hershey’s Parkview Cross Country Course.

Football and field hockey will remain at Cumberland Valley. Tennis remains at Hershey Racquet Club and golf will again be held at the Penn State courses.
