Ringgold stays unbeaten in conference play, routs Uniontown
MONONGAHELA – Cristian Lowther ran for three scores, Cam Trilli returned an interception for a touchdown and Ringgold defeated Uniontown 46-6 in a Class 4A Big Six Conference football game Thursday night at Joe Montana Stadium.
Ringgold (2-0, 4-3) broke open a close game scoring the game’s final five touchdowns.
Lowther scored on runs of 23, 3 and 3 yards, the latter giving Ringgold a 26-6 lead in the third quarter.
Uniontown (0-2, 3-4) pulled to within 14-6 in the second quarter, when Marcus Evans bolted 87 yards up the middle for a touchdown.
Ringgold responded with a 31-yard run by Nicholas Stasko that gave the Rams a 20-6 advantage at halftime.
After Lowther’s third touchdown opened the scoring in the second half, Trilli intercepted a Uniontown pass and returned it 15 yards to give Ringgold a 33-6 lead.
Ringgold recovered an onside kickoff for the second time in the third quarter, and Rams quarterback Jase Trumpe tossed a 3-yard TD pass to former quarterback Dennis Hawkins with 37 seconds remaining in the period.
Demetri Lowe scored the final touchdown on a 19-yard run with 4:17 remaining.
