Rogers’ big day lifts Jefferson-Morgan to 1st win

JEFFERSON – Liam Rogers rushed for 159 yards and scored three touchdowns, including a 98-yard jaunt that opened the scoring, as Jefferson-Morgan defeated Mapletown 27-12 in a Class A Tri-County South Conference game at Parker Field.

Triton Farabee scored on a one-yard run in the second quarter and threw a 65-yard TD pass to Rogers early in the third quarter that gave J-M (1-1, 1-4) a 21-6 lead.

Rogers closed the scoring with a 24-yard run with 7:14 remaining.

Carson Vanata had a two-yard scoring run in the second quarter and Tyler Dusenberry added a six-yard scoring jaunt in the fourth that pulled Mapletown (0-2, 0-5) to within 21-12.

In addition to his rushing total, Rogers caught seven passes for 101 yards.

Dusenberry led Mapletown in rushing with 83 yards on 13 carries.
