Hays leads Bentworth to victory over Brownsville

REPUBLIC – Benjamin Hays rushed for 141 yards and scored three touchdowns in Bentworth’s 48-0 nonconference victory over Brownsville on Friday night at Redstone Field.

Hays opened the scoring in the first quarter on a 46-yard run and Caden Hackinson made the first of five PATs.

Alex Leichty scored from four yards out and Lucas Burt caught a 23-yard touchdown pass from Ty Watson before Hays closed the scoring in the first half of a 28-yard run.

Anthony Washington got into the scoring with a seven-yard run in the third before Watson took a quarterback keeper in from the one-yard line.

Hays closed the scoring on a 49-yard run.
